Gallstones

Gallstones are hard deposits that form in the gallbladder and can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, indigestion, and sometimes infection if they block the bile duct. When gallstones cause repeated pain or complications, surgery is the most effective treatment. The procedure, called cholecystectomy, involves removing the gallbladder to prevent further attacks and complications. Most gallbladder surgeries today are performed using the laparoscopic method, which is a minimally invasive technique. Small incisions are made in the abdomen, and a camera and surgical instruments are used to remove the gallbladder. This approach results in smaller scars, less pain, and faster recovery compared to open surgery. The surgery is performed under anesthesia, and patients usually stay in the hospital for 2–3 days. After the procedure, some patients may experience mild bloating, shoulder pain, or temporary discomfort, but these symptoms are generally mild and manageable with medicines. Patients are usually able to start a light diet the next day and are encouraged to walk soon after surgery to promote recovery. Most people can return to their normal activities within about a week. Life remains completely normal even without the gallbladder, as the body continues to digest food effectively.

CA Endometrium

Endometrial cancer surgery removes the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and sometimes lymph nodes to treat cancer. Pros: Removes the cancer completely and allows planning of additional therapy if needed. Cons: Temporary fatigue, mild pain, and early menopause if ovaries are removed. Hospital stay is 4 days. Pain is managed with medicines, and light walking is encouraged for recovery. Diet and rest are important. Follow-up visits monitor for recurrence. Most patients recover smoothly and regain normal activity. Cons: • Mild fatigue • Temporary pain • Early menopause if ovaries removed

LASIK With Blade

Blade LASIK is a laser vision correction procedure where a microkeratome blade is used to create a thin corneal flap. The excimer laser then reshapes the underlying cornea to correct refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Under topical anesthesia, the surgeon uses a microkeratome to create a precise corneal flap. The flap is lifted and the excimer laser removes microscopic tissue to reshape the cornea. After reshaping, the flap is repositioned, naturally adhering without stitches. The procedure is quick, usually completed within minutes. It is a 20 minutes procedure and patient can be discharged on the same day.

Phaco Cataract Surgery

Treatment Procedure Preoperative Evaluation Vision tests, eye measurements, and assessment for IOL selection. Medical history review to ensure fitness for surgery. Anesthesia Local anesthesia with numbing drops or injection; patient remains awake and comfortable. Micro-Incision Creation A tiny (1.8–2.8 mm) incision is made on the cornea. Phacoemulsification An ultrasonic probe is inserted to break the cloudy lens into tiny fragments. Lens fragments are suctioned out through the same incision. IOL Implantation A foldable intraocular lens is inserted and positioned inside the natural lens capsule. Self-Sealing Incision The micro-incision usually seals on its own without stitches. Postoperative Care Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drops prescribed for a few weeks. Benefits Minimally invasive with tiny incision and less tissue trauma. Quick recovery, often with improved vision within 24–48 hours. High precision using advanced phaco technology. Less postoperative discomfort compared to manual techniques. Lower risk of astigmatism due to smaller incision. Excellent visual outcomes with enhanced clarity and contrast. Aftercare & Recovery Use prescribed eye drops as instructed. Avoid rubbing or pressing the operated eye. Keep water, dust, and sweat away from the eye initially. Avoid heavy lifting, bending, and strenuous activities for 1–2 weeks. Wear sunglasses outdoors to reduce glare and protect the eye. Attend all follow-up visits to monitor healing. Expected Outcomes Clearer, brighter vision typically within a few days. Many patients may need glasses for reading depending on the IOL type.
